Abstract

The differences in the methods in which pupils approach learning are quite significant, notably the contrast between "deep" and "surface" ways of doing the task. When it comes to practical matters, memory does not take into account the overall context or the value of the knowledge. On the other hand, the latter scenario calls for a comprehensive comprehension of the topic at hand, rigorous evaluation, and an acknowledgment of the significance of the matter. It is a widely held notion that the implementation of the Revised methods of Studying Inventory (RASI) is inconsistent; yet, an effort is made to quantify the various ways of studying, despite the fact that this belief is widely recognised. Concerning the subject of the inquiry This research was conducted with the intention of determining the factor structure of the Revised Approaches to Studying Inventory (RASI) among undergraduate students in Greece. This was accomplished by investigating the influence that a number of factors, including handedness, academic discipline, age, and gender, have on the study habits of pupils. Participants in the study were members of the general community who were currently enrolled in a variety of academic programmes. In the study conducted at a Greek university, there were 452 first-year students who participated, and the university was categorised as a medium-sized organisation. Specifically, the technique and conceptual framework that were utilised in the investigation are the focal points of this study. A simplified version of the RASI that consisted of thirty items was subjected to a factor analysis in order to evaluate its effectiveness. In the course of the research, the researchers identified five key components: the surface approach, the deep approach, the strategic approach, metacognitive awareness, and academic self-confidence. MANOVA, which stands for mixed-design analysis of variance, was carried out for each of the RASI scales. Please find below a summary of the proposals as well as the concluding thoughts: According to the findings of the MANOVA, teaching staff has a statistically significant influence on students' academic self-confidence, whereas gender has a significant impact on the way students approach strategic problems. According to the findings of the statistical research, there is a significant interaction between sex-6 handedness and their approach to strategy. Furthermore, a three-way interaction that was statistically significant was discovered between the deep approach and the sex-6 age professors that were involved in the study. Results that were statistically significant were obtained from these two possible interactions.
